The annual Accounting and Financial Reporting Conference will be held in conjunction
with the Oil and Gas Accounting Conference on Thursday, Nov. 16 and Friday, Nov. 17,
2023, respectively, at the Cox Convention Center in Tulsa.

Participants can choose to attend just one conference or both the AFRC and the Oil
and Gas Accounting Conferences at a discounted rate. Both conferences are presented
by the Center for the Future of Work and School of Accounting in the Oklahoma State
University Spears School of Business.

“We are excited to welcome top-tier national experts to Tulsa for our fall conferences,”
said Angela Spencer, interim head of the school of accounting and Lanny G. Chasteen
Chair in Accounting in Spears Business. “These events offer a valuable platform for
Oklahoma professionals and students to engage with innovative leaders, fostering dynamic
discussions on the most pressing topics in financial reporting and oil and gas accounting
today.”

Accounting and Financial Reporting Conference

The AFRC brings together national and regional experts, Financial Accounting Standards
Board and Securities and Exchange Commission officials, corporate financial executives,
CPAs and academics to discuss current issues in accounting.

“I look forward to the OSU Accounting and Financial Reporting Conference every year,
both personally and professionally,” said Lisa Rambo, vice president of business development
at Embark. “The OSU team does an amazing job of putting together relevant, timely
topics that really resonate with our work and focus here at Embark.

“I appreciate how they explore different ways of presenting and keep the subject matter
dynamic. Between outstanding topics, great presenters, and wonderful attendees, the
conference is always a perfect time to learn, expand perspectives and reconnect with
colleagues and friends.”

Speakers include experts Ashley Tisckos from the FASB providing updates and Dr. Alexis
Smith Washington from OSU speaking about diversity, equity and inclusion. A panel
of industry leaders – Adam Golden with TaxSearch Inc., Leonelle Thompson, with Williams
and Nicole Renkema with HoganTaylor – will also discuss workplace recruiting and retention.

In addition, participants can earn up to eight hours of Continuing Professional Education
credit.

Oil and Gas Accounting Conference

The Oil and Gas Accounting Conference features experts, corporate financial executives
and CPAs addressing current issues pertaining to accounting in the oil and gas industry.

“The annual Oil and Gas Conference has been thoughtfully developed to cover topics
that are relevant to those working in the oil and gas industry, as well as provide
valuable insights and CPE,” said Angela Baker, conference moderator and instructor
of professional practice at Spears Business. “In addition to addressing technical
issues, there’s also an emphasis on providing quality time to network with peers and
others in the industry.”

Speakers will include the associate chief accountant for the U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission, Jonathan Duersch, and the senior tax counsel for ConocoPhillips, Hanif
Gulamhussein.

Participants can also earn up to four hours of Continuing Professional Education credit.
